Columbia Helicopters Inc. (CHI) was founded in 1957 and is an owner/operator of 14 CHI Model 107-II helicopters, 9 CHI Model 234 Chinooks, 11 Boeing CH-47D Chinooks, and a King Air B-200. Columbia Helicopters has experience operating all over the world, flying various types of missions from firefighting to heavy-lift construction work, and completed nearly a decade of service transporting personnel and cargo in Afghanistan in June 2021. Columbia holds an FAA Type Certificate for the 107, 234, and CH-47D, and the production certificate to manufacture replacement parts for the 107 and 234. In addition to operating aircraft, Columbia Helicopters also operates an FAA-approved Part 145 repair station located in Aurora, Oregon, with extensive repair and depot-level maintenance capabilities for entire airframes, dynamic components and engines.
Recently Columbia announced a new 234 Multi-Mission Chinook - an aircraft that stands ready to meet emergencies and natural disasters challenges. As the world’s largest standard transport category heavy lift helicopter, the aircraft’s extreme flexibility allows agencies to easily support multiple missions year-round.
