Dominique Legendre

Professor, Institut de Mecanique des Fluides

Prof. Dominique Legendre has graduated with a PhD in Fluid Mechanics in 1996 in IMFT (Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse), France. He is currently Professor in Fluid Mechanics Professor since 2007 and is a senior researcher at IMFT one leading Fluid Mechanics Institute in Europe.

His main line of research is multiphase flows, in particular bubble and drop dynamics including, heat and mass transfert, icing, wetting phenomena. His investigations are mainly based on the development of numerical methods for direct numerical simulations and collaborations with experimentalist. He has been involved in the analysis of Airtanker performance in collaboration with the USDA-FS and has developed an original modeling able to predict the deposit on ground of a liquid dropped by any aerial system. He is co-chairman of the International Congress of Multiphase Flows (ICMF) and will chair the scientific day (day one) at the AFF 2020 in Nimes.
